Fairfields Primary School has received a significant boost to its resources thanks to a generous donation from a local restaurant. Raai Traditional Indian Street Food, located on Wote Street, has donated £1,700 worth of essential items purchased directly from the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Amazon wish list.

The donation comprised 171 individual items, vital classroom equipment. The Amazon wish list is a tool used by the Fairfields PTA to allow the community to purchase specific, pre-vetted items that teachers have identified as beneficial for the students' learning and development.

A representative for the Fairfields Primary PTA expressed their astonishment and gratitude. This donation will directly enrich the educational experience for every single one of pupils.

The contribution from Raai highlights a growing trend of local businesses stepping up to support community institutions. For schools, which often face tight budgets, such partnerships are invaluable.

The owner of Raai Traditional Indian Street Food commented on their decision to support the school. "We believe in being an active and supportive member of the Basingstoke community. Children's education is the foundation of our future, and when we saw the school's wish list, we knew we wanted to make a real difference. It’s a privilege to be in a position to give back to the families and children in our town."

Raai Traditional Indian Street Food is located at 29 Wote Street, Basingstoke, RG21 7NE. More information can be found on their website at www.raai.co.uk. The donation stands as a powerful example of community spirit and corporate responsibility in Basingstoke.
